Why I like independent film, Why do I like independent film it could be do to the fact that I constantly find new works by film makers who really work hard to get vision on the screen. Let's look at some films that I championed. The first was Palookaville, pleasant little crime film that feature the kind of people who never come out on top but through misfortune have good things happen to them. I really want to see the film in the film The Armored Car Robbery, as it looks like a classic crime film. Another would be You Me And Everyone We Know, working class people who over come little problems. Lost Skeleton Of Cadavera , now this film was a surprise it was like seeing again all of those movies I used to watch on channel 10 in Rochester NY. Is it for all tastes no, but I am writing about what I like so I don't care if you see it or not. Since that film the director has made four more films only one of which is on dvd. Right now I am tracking the progress of Iron Sky a film about NAZi's on the moon and their return to earth. It looks like it will be like those pre 1945 war films.

The movie screen was the canvas of the 20th century. From the early days of cinema for all as the universal language in which film reader read the subtitles for those who could not read. The early sound films where everything took a back seat to the dialogue. The pre-code movies where all most anything goes and the screen would not see their like a again until film ratings came in 1966. The studio years. The raise of indie pendant film. The art house movies in original languages with English subtitles that was the 20th century. Soon digital projection will totally replace film and movies on demand will be the future. The movie theater and television as we know it will cease to exist and content providers using broadband will allows us to have various forms of media in our living rooms on really big screens. This will be the a blessing and a curse but it is the what we as film lovers dream.
