I especially love cinema that is life affirming and humanistic in its appeal. Cinema that shows the harsh realities of the world as well as that which develops a nostalgia in me for those transient moments of innocence and happiness. But then, I don’t mind watching a well made entertainer as well.

Thanks for the link David. I have already got An Inn at Osaka and will be hopefully watching it soon if time permits. Japanese cinema is an endless treasure and nowadays it has almost become comfort food for me. It's like I am in home territory whenever I watch Japanese films. Yamanaka is fascinating. One of the most complete cinema directors imo. Thanks for reading my reviews and I also hope to have more exchanges with you in the future.
