Dumbness.
I have to say, I really enjoyed this movie. Johnny Depp was magnetic and carried the whole film, although the supporting actors were a bit wooden. The cinematography and art direction were brilliant though, and the screenplay worked, but the camera work was less than desirable.
I donno. This seemed kinda really pretentious in the way that it both refused to conclude some things but also laid others painfully threadbare. I can't decide if I'm just not mature enough to understand it or if the film itself was immature with its incohesive concoction of pretty pictures...
This was revolting.
this was actually one of the worst things I've ever seen...
I was initially mad about how terrible this was at being faithful to the book, but upon seeing it for a second time, I realized that, artistically, it really was pretty good, much better than any of the other ones. The cinematography was a lot more developed, and some of the performances really stood out.
I'd always heard that this was a quintessential film, but it didn't live up to my expectations at all. There are some good moments, but overall, it lacked the luster that movie musicals are known for, and failed to keep my attention.
Beautiful story with hushed gold tones lighting every scene, but felt more like a series of charming vignettes than a flowing film.
In the end, this is one of the movies I'm really glad I own. The story is awesome, the songs are infectious, and Tim Curry is sex on legs. How can you not love it?
Eh... I don't know, I thought it would be a lot better than it was... It felt like it was trying too hard
I actually thought this was the most cohesive of the three of them...
What can be better than Bugs Bunny in drag singing Wagner? This is like my entire childhood in seven minutes...
I was literally obsessed with this movie when I was 10... Haven't watched it lately, but I don't think Tim Burton will ever make a better film...
This film was so crazy but I loved it. It really gives an interesting impression of what post-apocalyptic australia would be like, complete with biker gangs with shaved eyebrows and squirrel pelts on their jackets. And why do all sidekicks named Goose have to die? And why did they keep leaving the baby in random places?
Okay, I really hate it when people tell you to watch something cuz its their favorite movie ever and then you hate it. Such was the case with this, which I thought was sophomoric and slightly self-indulgent. It definitely had some nice moments, but I don't think I'd ever watch it again...
It's ridiculous how amazing this is...
All right I changed my mind... after watching it three times in one week, it starts to look like 10 Things I Hate About You 2: Cameron Grows Up. I did like the cinematography though...
i think they forgot the plot...
This movie is the best. Full of random awkward moments, endearingly campy screenplay, great characters, and that amazing opening credit scene with the processed cafeteria-esque food on the different carpets...and all those great quotes D-Kwon: Are you ready to get yo groove on?! Napoleon: yes... I love this movie :)
