I thought it was pretty good the first time i saw it, then it just kind of wears off. i would say this is definitely a case of “style over substance”. i never really felt that attracted to the characters.
George Lucas obviously. I also feel that james cameron (the original terminator movie was great, but everything else, especially aliens (completely terrible movie imo compared to the first), was incredibly over rated) and david fincher are a bit over rated.
I agree juan, kubrick is definitely one of the most amazing film makers ever, if not the best. i remember my first kubrick film being “the shining” and then my interest in kubrick just kept growing. i love listening to some of the commentaries, noticing all the little things in his films. i think its easy to say his films have some of the most memorable scenes in film history. anyways, here is my top 3
1) Eyes Wide Shut
2) The Shining
3) A Clockwork Orange
(havent seen Dr. Strangelove or Lolita yet, guess i’ll have to order those now)
yup i agree with you 100% cesar. i personally didn’t think it was that slow though, it just gives you time to get impressed by the cinematography which i also loved.
all the sergio leone movies have fantastic music. i loved the music in “there will be blood”. also mulholland drive and blue velvet had great music as well.
1) lost in translation
2) there will be blood
3) little children
4) no country for old men
5) american psycho
6) mulholland drive
7) A.I.
8) vanilla sky
9) amelie
10) the life aquatic
the producers – The remake just had a better cast imo and i liked the music better.
vanilla sky – i love tom cruise, and he did the 2nd best performance of his carreer in this one.
mulholland drive. basically didnt really understand anything before the “switch”. after i finished the film i understood it better though and watched it again after reading some theories.
