A Brilliant psychologically violent, and endearing turn by Mann, Stewart and Company.
Every few years there comes films that invigorating your love and enjoyment for cinema just out of pure fun and spectacle. This film is just that. A delight mix of humor, originality and a wonderful depiction of Late eighties born generational sensibilities in a seamless fantastical joyride.
This just sucked. Poor representation of New York, and a majority of the films very just only moderately inspired.
Cinematography was wonderful!

I'll watch Day Lewis play a dog in heat! so even though i have reservations with Rob Marshall and the original stage production in which it's based, the cinematography and DDL make it at least worth a watch.
Simply as good as Noir can get !
They truly don't make films like this in America any more. Such a refreshing watch especially from an Auteur of this stature who films always seem to be Oscar fodder. I haven't this much fun at an indie film since i was a kid.
What are your thoughts on the economy in relation to film, with the continual integration of digital cinema in Hollywood (you being a heavy supporter of the RED digital cinema cameras), do you feel it has in fact made it more economic to make a film, or has it just allowed the money to be allocated more so on post production elements (vfx,sfx,etc..) ?
Stunning shadows. So interestingly well explored, is the greed in people. Absolutely enjoyed this film.
Should see my love letter to this film on the overrated directors thread. I wish my words could do this film justice. http://www.theauteurs.com/topics/450?page=25#comment_235438
