Richard Herskowitz is the artistic director of Cinema Arts Festival Houston (www.cinemartsociety.org) and the director of Cinema Pacific (cinemapacific.uoregon.edu) at the University of Oregon. Herskowitz was director of the Virginia Film Festival from 1994-2008. Prior to this, Herskowitz directed Cornell Cinema from 1982-94 and served as the film and video curator at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art in Ithaca, N.Y. Herskowitz has been a programmer (four times), trustee and president of the Robert Flaherty Film Seminar and chair of its 50th Anniversary Committee.
