Great visuals. Top acting. Funny and relate-able story. Though, I wish the Coens didn't worked that hard to make every single scene look and every dialogue sound quirky. For me that killed much of the atmosphere and also made many lines of dialogue feel unnatural.

Poor Dawn, her life really does suck!! I most definitely felt for her through the movie. It reminded me my horrible days in middle school... So glad not to be in school anymore! This is probably one of my favorite movies of all times and maybe the only movie by Solondz that I would consider brilliant!

Such a revolutionary film. Its hard to believe that this came before the Columbine even happened. I guess the director and the screenwriter had a pretty firm grasp on reality and where the things will go... It's worth to watch even just for the 'explosive' ending of the film!

This is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. Nice dialogue with very good bitchy lines... I still laugh each time I hear Meryl Streep says : "Details of your incompetence do not interest me."

One of my favorite films of all times. Probably, the most original coming of age story of the big screen... Love the way the movie makes us identify and feel for a Vampire who feeds on human blood, and, at the same time, make us hate a band of middle-school bullies with a passion! And, what an ending! The scene at the pool was brutal, literally!

Cliche story meets Stereotypical characters. Even the talented and the Amazing soundtrack wasn't enough to save the movie! That, or I lost my romantic streak and became a cynic. Either of those! Though, love Regina Spektor's song "Us." Amazing song!

This was probably my favorite movie of this year. In my opinion, everything about this film: the music, directing, cinematography, art direction, casting ( you can't go wrong with Vincent Gallo), the script, the concept, the story was just amazing... Too bad, there is no set date for the DVD release of this film. I would love to be the first in line...

This might not be a movie for everyone, but I really fell in love with the world that the director Ilia Khrzhanovsky within the film. It is a very bleak, dark and creepy world that is equally surreal, and yet still in so many different ways, it succinctly mirrors the world that we live in.

This is probably my All time Favorite film...There is something incredibly sad and heart-breaking about this film, however, each time I watch it, I can't stop being charmed by the protagonists romanticized wanderings and mischiefs, which brilliantly captures the freedom, the boredom and the loneliness that often comes with childhood...

Michel Gondry is a visual genius. And, the script for this film is extremely imaginative and hilarious. Casting Jack Black along with Mos Def was definitely a great casting call. The movie makes me want to re-watch all the amazing 90s classics that I grew up with such as Ghostbusters, Robocop and the Back to the Future Trilogy...
