About Me

“In this world, people love to complicate the simplest matters. Things may appear complicated, but who knows, the essence of life may be unexpectedly simple. That’s what I aimed to express. It’s easy to create drama through emotions, crying and laughing denote sadness or joy to the audience. However, that’s just an explanation. Even if feelings are expressed, it doesn’t mean that the characters personality or style has been properly represented. For a long time, I have wanted to do away with all the dramatic elements, to express sorrow without tears, to capture a sense of life without any intense emotional upheaval.”

I saw your film Luv'in the Black Country. Very strong and moving. Great controlled sound. That image of the subway train zooming past after he finishes his line contains a lot of emotion and beauty. I always love when reality comes into the film in a way where it seems like the filmmakers brought the random, uncontrollable world into doing exactly what they wanted in accordance to the vision in their heads. Perfect example of this is the final scene of Chop Shop with the birds. Also, just so coincidental: I was reading an article on your site about film buffs making better film-makers, and saw Blue Un Sok Kim's name. How in the hell do you know this guy? I am connected to him from donating to his campaign for his aborted film Kanaka. Weird connecting of the cosmos...
