That scene was exceptionally funny, it was really uncomfortable comic relief. I loved, "... you may not ball like Michael Jordan can, but that's okay. I'm also gay..." I quote the film more than I should, I admit. So, I noticed you watched Kids, among others. What did you think of it? It's a lot to digest, and though it would appear to be distractingly nihilistic (most of Korine's films could be considered that) it is a scarily relevant commentary on youth culture. Especially in the 90's, when it was made, where AIDS was rampant among lower income youth. Larry Clark really exposed the sexual underpinnings of America, especially through his photography. Tulsa was very transgressive when it came out. What especially moved me about Kids was the brutality of the ending, just that shot of Casper (was it?) sitting on a couch, shirtless, among filth, delirious, seemingly wasted, muttering to himself, "Jesus... what happened?" I just thought that was brilliant.
