By far his most poetic film,my favorite besides "The Royal Tennenbaums"
The greatest American director
Impressive! 236 minutes of pure fascination in my case.
My uncle as a director told me 5 years ago about that film:" A very good surprise, well written, well directed and brilliant performances". I would say now :"Very classy and subtle". A very good thriller which deserved more props and next year everybody might find the hollywood remake "The Tourist" great...publicity... Bravo Jerome Salle impressive for a first film!
Overated. Good movie but that's it,nothing exceptional except the kids maybe.
Where is 'Grand Canyon'?
JONUK WHO: "Possibly the most eloquently written Hollywood film ever made! " The most amazing film I have ever seen. EVERY scene is an expression of perfection,I don't even mention the brightness of the dialogues (Mankiewicz 's speciality) and the finesse when it comes to this script...and to me it's the best Marylin Monroe role ever! BETTE DAVIS + Anne Baxter : no comment. My ultimate movie.
I remember leaving the theatre asking myself if I had just watched a perfect movie... Brillant! PS:I would love to see Maria Bello more often...
Doing "Short Cuts" and "The Player" in a row is amazing! When he did "Pret-a-porter" the critics destroyed it,but it's a good movie but they were expecting another masterpiece...
Amazing film,Fincher proved he was a master in cinematography. Unfortunatly the story is the weakest link so it's not great a entertainment for the audience that's why I it is one of the top 5 most underrated American films released last decade (I agree with you David).
