Jerzy Skolimowski's "Essential Killing" is a beautiful and haunting film - with effective sounds both natural and musical - and with little dialogue. Apparently it is essential to kill to survive, if only to survive for a limited time. . . I loved this film. I was engaged through-out. . . viewed it last night at the Harvard Film Archive. . . Hopefully this film and others by Skolimowski will be available in the US on DVD. . . why are so many films by great directors unavailable to us mortals??
