Feel free to submit them. :-)
"The Ringer" (1984) is also a masterpiece.
By far the most satisfying part of the "old" Evangelion series, as it takes the best from both worlds: The series engaging character interplay and psychological and philosophical discourse, and the first 25 minutes of the final film, which are the most convincing gruesome and to the point moments of the entire franchise. If only this would have been the end - a perpetual limbo that keeps us guessing.
His first is also his best. All-out masterpiece.
Maybe so far the best and most complex Tarzan film.
Wow, there still are original talents emerging with a sense of film history. Incredible find!
Where are the Taiwanese films from the 70s?! That's when Brigitte became a star, so we need them! :-)
An (accidental) Masterpiece and transgressive cinema at its best.
Indeed. :-)
Peter Hyams actually made even better films. :-)
Where's "The Liberation of L.B. Jones", Wyler's final masterpiece?
Another masterpiece by great Dario. Gets better with each viewing. So far, I've seen it 6 times.
Made with great clarity and an admirable sense of humanism this is a true gem.
We need more Imamura films on MUBI. I want "ENDLESS DESIRE" (1958) added to the database! :-)
Timeless masterpiece, in which not only Bruce Lee but also Lo Wei once again proves that he is one of the greatest.
Last time I daw it, I specifically admired the phenomenal sound-design. In a fair world, this film should really be mentioned alongside other "New Wave" films of the 60s from France, Japan Czechoslovakia, etc. ;-)
One of the greatest!
Just saw it again a few days ago. Especially the last 10 Minutes are riveting, and may just be one of the best sequences in film history.
Wonderful. Another masterpiece by Shyamalan.
An underrted master of cinema. In a just world, he would sit alongside Welles and Betgman in the Pantheon.
Wow - never expected this on the auteurs... Either the site is going downhill, or it will become even more a den of true movie lovers. Who knows, which way's it going?
Currently my favorite Godard.
We need more Castle! Where are his best films like Homicidal, Strait-Jacket and The Night Walker?
Where's Frantic? The best Hitchcock film not directed by Hitchcock! Actually it's also my favorite Polanski.
German filmmakers do it again. Heisenberg shows that he is one of the many great young(er) filmmakers from Germany that have come to the forefront of World Cinema during the last decade. My personal favorites are still Ulrich Köhler and Angela Schanelec, but Heisenberg's "The Robber" is on a similar level. Already one of the best films of 2010.
Great film. One of my favorites.
His masterpiece.
I second that! :-)
Great film. If you liked this one, you should also watch "Ultimo Mondo Cannibale" (1977), which is at least as good as this one.
And "Angel's Egg"! Probably all of Oshii should be added...
