Ian W. Hill was born outside Philadelphia (Upper Darby). Raised a bit there, in Bloomington, IN and Wilmington, DE, but mainly in Cos Cob, CT. Schooled in Massachusetts and New York City. Resident of New York City (Gravesend, Brooklyn) and sometimes Portland, ME.
Hill has worked as an actor, writer, director, producer, and technician in theatre and film for around 20 years. Managed and lived in the Nada Theatre on Ludlow Street, NYC, from 1996 to 2000. Mainly works at The Brick, an indie theatre in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, now (Technical Director since 2007). Has acted in around 75 independent theatre productions in NYC since 1989, has directed 59 since 1997, and has designed elements (primarily lights, sound, and/or projections) for many many more.
He has been working on a novel (Worlgdinprogcess) since April, 1984. He’ll finish it sometime.
He is sometimes a songwriter and musician. Sometimes poet and photographer.
He is a former Christian. Is an Atheist. Leftist. New Englander. American. Patriot.
