For the record, no, I don’t think there’s any film everyone likes (and I don’t even quite understand what is meant by “a film everyone has to like”). I do think that a useful distinction can be drawn between liking a film and appreciating a film’s craftmanship. I think that there are a much larger number of films that people appreciate than which people like. I suspect that it might be possible to get a consensus on a few films that nearly (never “unanimously”) everyone appreciates at a craftsmanship level. Forget any film that everyone likes — no such animal exists.
