and a (reeeeeally) haunting ending...
Oh my god. Exquisite. Every frame is beautiful. The colors, the angles, the everything. Tilda was brilliant as usual, and so were all the other actors. Every performance was great. Such a stunning movie, I seriously just sat there in awe after it was over.
Loved loved loved it. Sweet and funny. The visuals were absolutely stunning, especially during the floating lantern scene. All the characters were well-voiced and that chameleon was way too cute.
The shitty acting grossed me out almost more than the hour of ass to mouth.
Fucking beautiful. Beautiful performances from Zach Braff and Natalie Portman, beautiful music, beautiful everything. One of the best things I've seen in a while.
Oh my GOD Hank Azaria. Enough said.
Absolutely loved it. So sweet, and such an honest portrayal of all the awkwardness and anguish that comes with preteen relationships.
Great performances from Streep, Adams, and Tucci. Very sweet, and a lot of fun to watch.
Absolutely brilliant. Fantastic dialogue, great acting, intense, and AMAZING to look at. Loved every second of it.
SO much better than I thought it was going to be. Piss-pants hilarious, not to mention great performances from all the actors. It was sweet, and overall a fantastic movie.
Solondz does a brilliant job at capturing how truly shitty middle school is. It's not hard to relate to at least one aspect of Dawn's bummer of a situation. Matarazzo was fantastic playing the aptly named Dawn Wiener, as were all the other actors. Definitely one of the best movies I've seen about having issues with school and stupid teenagers.
Interesting, no doubt about it. But it didn't seem like much more than a bunch of weird and twisted scenes strung together to make a movie.
Ah-mazing. Funny and depressing and all things in between.
Never would have thought Bjork was such a good actress. LOVED this movie, loved the fact that the musical numbers were not all "happy happy joy joy", and I just straight up love Von Trier.
As the synopsis says above "nauseating, shocking, depraved, pornographic. . ." I definitely agree with the first three, but how anyone could ever associate this with porn is beyond me. Regardless, while terrifying and disgusting, Salo is a work of art cinematically and it's visually fantastic. I'm probably not going to see it again for a while, though.. >.<
Not all that funny unless you're stoned. I mean, I fucking adore Seth Rogen, but this is definitely not one of my favorites that he's in.
Heartbreaking and (reeeeeally) disturbing. Greene is ridiculously perfect playing an extremely troubled schizophrenic man. Loved the visuals, also. This movie actually made me feel like I was descending into madness. Definitely a job fantastically done, Mr. Kerrigan, but I don't think I ever want to watch this again.
Maybe my expectations were set too high. The acting was not great by any means. Definitely far too predictable. And it bugged me that no matter what the situation, it always seemed like Dylan Walsh was creeping around every corner solely for the purpose of scaring the shit out of everyone in the house.
Favorite documentary of all time. Bowling for Columbine has the perfect balance of humor, irony, and disturbing truths. Michael Moore did a brilliant job of creating a shocking documentary that hopefully brought a lot of gun nuts to their senses.
John Cusack was so perfect for this role. In fact, every role was perfectly cast, in my opinion. Cusack, Louiso, and Black all do fantastic jobs of portraying musical elitists. The dialogue in this film is ridiculously good, too. I've seen this movie at least fifteen times, and I find more that I love about it each time I watch it. Definitely in my Top Five movies of all time :)
It had its moments. It was very real and I definitely commend Cassavetes for capturing that so well. Nothing really grabbed me and pulled me in, though.
wow. perfect. there wasn't a single moment when my eyes weren't glued to the screen. sharlto copley was absolutely great and the intricacy of the aliens was incredible, along with all the effects. can't say enough good things about it.
very sweet. i felt the parts with mr. dufayel and amelie were a little heavy-handed but still very charming and entertaining.
i loved it but i don't feel that love is the right term. it was really, really good but i felt like i wanted to puke when it was over. in a good way, of course. well done, mr. williams.
an absolutely perfect film. that's all i can really say about it.
it was ridiculously fucking honest. i absolutely loved it but wow i don't even feel like talking right now.
disturbing, hilarious, brilliant. lara flynn boyle was fantastic and completely believable. i always love phillip seymour hoffman and he played his part perfectly. he fit very well into that pathetic niche (i know i could've worded that better but i'm at a loss for words right now.) but yeah, wow. just wow.
the acting was good but i felt like the movie was over before it even started. didn't really capture my attention that much.
couldn't find a single thing i didn't love about this movie.
thoroughly enjoyed this movie. i believed every word and every facial expression joseph gordon-levitt made/said. zooey deschanel played her part very well too. i loved the fact that this wasn't a typical romantic comedy too. it had some serious ups and downs and betrayal and whatnot and that made it really real.
amazing and beautiful and life-changing
