About Me

I was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 12, 1974. I have a rock group THE PULL and you can hear it at www.myspace.com/switchyard111 or go to www.yourmusicspot.com and THE PULL is in the Alternative Rock, Rock, and Hard Rock categories. We sound like 80’s SST fuzz power rock in the vein of Sonic Youth, Screaming Trees, and Dinosaur Jr. My favorite movie of all would have to be Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s GRINDHOUSE collaboration. I loved the creativity of it and I was rooting for the public to welcome back two movies for the price of one again (being that a ticket is now $8.00 in my city of residence). The coolest collection of films that I ever bought was from Mill Creek Entertainment and it was called GANGSTERS. It had great films from great directors not listed in the Auteurs section of my profile: Michelle Lupo, Fernando De Leo, Daniel J. Vance, and many others. These movies were all of the Grindhouse nature and were awesome!! I am married to a beautiful woman, Lisa Marie Purcell, and I have a 3 year old son named Landon Christopher, and I have a boy on the way, Owen Anthony. My favorite actor would have to be Kurt Russell for his roles in John Carpenter’s The Thing and Escape from New York and Big Trouble in Little China. I also loved him in my favorite movie, Quentin Tarantino’s DEATH PROOF, basically a giallo where the weapon is a death-proofed stunt car. What a concept for a film!

Cool, I'll check out your music, it sounds like a style I'd dig. I like a band out of Columbus called Two Cow Garage, you know those guys?

Hey I didnt post on that arrogance thread but read your post and the posts directed towards you. First of all looking at your list of directors you dont seem to have a limited out look on film and secondly I think the fact your willing to address problems that bother you is admirable. I know people on the forum can sometimes come across as self gloryfing but I do not think it is this, I think that for a quite a lot of posters on this forum the films they have watched have become an extension of their personality and helped them towards what they would call "enlightenment". So for them to say I dont want to go backwards to what they would call simplicity is understandable as they are thinking of themselves which is not a bad thing, but on the other hand I do feel the condescending attitude sometimes used here and in life excludes people. Finally don't feel overawed by Godard and Nouvelle Vague fans, your a Lynch fan! He is an American genius(and in my opinion a million times better than godard) and proves that not all good auteur cinema comes from Europe or Asia. If you want to talk about film at some point, please post to me and let me know, as I know quite alot about East-Asian cinema and maybe you'd be interested in that, and I imagine there is alot i could learn off you. anyway dont let haters drive you off the site, remember this site is for everyone that loves film seriously not just Godard bummers. jamie
