Like I said that explanation was brief and incoherent and I don't think it was meant for even the slightest analysis. I agree that it doesnt make sense but there is no contradiction, really. They didnt say he was reliving a memory. They gave no theory or set of rules other than that this guys memory was a part of some scientific equation in which they were able to invade an alternate reality...Whether that makes sense or not is a different issue. Now, the ending makes no sense at all and is for sentimental purposes only which was a letdown. And that article contradicts the scientific truth behind the film, not the narrative, which actually makes sense when put in context with the basic assumptions we were already accustomed to. I guess my point is that the movie is nowhere near exceptional and could be further developed but sometimes, and in the case of this story, less is more haha
hey, ya have to admit that the director's motivation was not based on sci fi theory but instead on entertainment value. I still don't recall any contradictions really--a 30 second "explanation/comparison" doesn't count ;) In order to confront the story on theoretical terms I think you have to be a scientist, like these guys http://herocomplex.latimes.com/2011/04/01/limitless-and-source-code-science-not-as-outlandish-as-youd-think/
