It's off-puttingly off kilter at the beginning but by about the half-way mark, the film gets right to the core of the story and delves past the shit that tends to cloudy up illness of the week melodramas. The fact that the humour tends to ring true and the performances are uniformly grand don't hurt either. The nuggets of truth are what make 50/50, in the end, so likeable and ultimately a film worth the watch.Favorite Films

Hi Liam, you have a great taste. I identified with their lists and their films. I agree with the excellence of Paul Thomas Anderson and his "There Will Be Blood" is overwhelming. "The Illusionist" is as you described: charming and wonderful. It's nice to meet other lovers of good cinema. Bye.
