SAYONARA BUNKA!! (Formerly Corbeau)

WHAT?!!!!
It makes such a big effort in being a touching film at any cost just to get the inmediate emotional favor of the audience. "Beijing Bicycle" or "Bicycle of the seventeen years" can't go very deep and it finally remains only on what's visible from the iceberg of social/individual issues: the mere anecdote with no other contribution.
Another poignant-social-comment gem from Berlanga's universe. Itsbert and López Vásquez together are 100% hilarious in this curious plot.
Very interesting work on lighting and color. Night scenes are very remarkable in terms of light.. but in contrast, day lighthing seemed very generic for me. Lee Jun-ik made a worthy effort mixing comedy and tragedy, nonetheless, because of some failures in that risky/necessary experiment, some turning points come to be predictable in spite of the amazing and very talented cast.
It's really strange to see Jet Li as an autistic teenager's father. This movie is not interesting at all mainly because of the schematic drama, predectability and manipulative generic resources in acting, music and montage. Doyle, miss Kwai and even Li are notably wasted here.
Very interesting hypothesis and conjectures on Seberg's life and career in parallel with surprising ideas and linkings between film history, film procedures and politics, all under a singular-and-consistent structure.
The aggressive cultural stereotypes strike again. Shame on you producers.
Delicious references from chivalry books with such an extravagantly funny cast.
Wow this print exists!!!! http://www.silentera.com/PSFL/data/I/IsonoGentaDakinenoNaga1932.html
It'd make an interesting double feature with Serra's Crespià.
Thanks Arsaib! That's an enlightening article. It also vindicates the "Third Cinema" concept. The critical approach by Teshome Gabriel sounds very interesting as well.
Interesting and creative film. It deserves some more attention.
Tal como lo intuyó Bresson, ciertas fuerzas estarán siempre persiguiendo y rodeando a los artistas para tratar de aniquilar, aplastar o al menos alterar, sus obras desde mucho antes que puedan ver la luz.
I wish his feature films were like this
Uncut version is 24 minutes long
This reminds me of certain country I know.
Superb experience!! I wish that some live-action films were this carefull with space and color
Definitely It's a must see film in colombian film history. Fernando Vallejo's "En la tormenta" is another interesting film focused on similar events. http://mubi.com/films/23798
Brilliant synopsis for such an uneven film. Imo, It falls completely in the last 40 minutes, forgetting the esential thoughts, digression and its focus on the perturbed creative process that marked the first part of the film. Possibly cause of the flaw: Obsession with similarity to History.
I just saw it again, with different eyes, thinking about the artist and human who crosses unthinkable paths in life.
Are the people from Bogotá going to see this ever? where? when?
Eight-Diagram Pole Fighter (1983), coming soon on Dragon Dynasty!
Great film on education!
That excess of "beauty" becomes something suspicious.
Great visual compositions!
Better than the original one.
Structure and construction in all of its meanings!
When "meditative" and "contemplative" become formula
One of the most important and intriguing films in the history of Colombian cinema. Censored, banned and cut, there are just 50 minutes of the film that survive. Seriously, a transgressive brave gem within an era of colombian silent cinema mostly accustomed to costumbrist literary adaptations and costumbrist films from wealthy families.
