A little off-topic, but Dario Argento took part in the screenplay? I find that really interesting since I always put him under the horror genre.
Beautiful, evocative, haunting. The film's length may be under half-an-hour, but it perfectly conveys its ideas and themes that have become staples in existential sci-fi. The use of still images is so unique and thoughtful that one begins to believe they are watching actual video, one of the many mysticisms of this superb film.
This story of a cleaning lady mother and go-go dancer daughter in the French Riviera depicts the struggles and relationships caused by sexual attraction. A beautiful movie, particularly the scene with Stella and her boyfriend driving in his convertible, that is a reminder of how who we are now affects who we become later.
The most intriguing movie I've seen in years, a great introduction to Lynch's style.
