Yeah, before the days of ADSL/Cable connections I used to get my DVDs from bootleg sellers, and the only foreign cinema I could usually get hold of were Asian horror and action/martial arts films. So like you I used to watch a lot of the Korean/Japanese horror, but how my tastes have changed since then :D I've got a few Kurosawa films, so I'll try to watch those soon. I've seen him listed on the contemplative cinema blog. Thanks for the other suggestions, I've only seen Visitor of a Museum and like you said, although not technically a horror, films like that are far more effective in the impact they have on the mind and senses, and are more unsettling than traditional horrors. I remember Visitor being a very dark, bleak, and difficult film to watch!
