I hope the bit about Michael Bay was a joke.
Anamorphic lenses are all the rage.
Every Frame is just perfect, it flows and and the same time the restrain provides so much into the sacred. It's like Dumont is a reincarnation of Bresson. Not easy to forget the scene where she's inside of the church and a chamber quartet is playing Bach.
Being able to convey so much with so little, only a genius. I felt that i was there, levels of deep feelings with a restraint performance, repetitions and pure master shots.
Amazingly shot, carefully framed, non actors creating reality and stunning ending. I am glad that i will not see Michael Bay's remake.
Just re watched it last night as part of a retrospective of his work, timeless piece of despair, alienation and philosophy of the brave, same 50mm lens, sounds, composition and amazing effect, the models made it and after 35 years still makes you feel and think. Genius.
Every scene is carefully planned and choreographed in an unique way, a non conformist documentary that blows your mind with awe, imagination and joy.
Great film, camera work, acting is not uneven, it's well layered and an amazing ending!
The Poet.
The sheep scene still in my mind. Great use of time and framing. Poetic.
The White Ribbon a masterpiece about the origins of evil and Nazism. Christian Berger's killer cinematography!
Not only amazing performances, cinematography, pacing, framing, music, repression described in a deep well performed manner under a great director!
Perfect way to say Adios suckers...masterpiece!
A fantastic way to say goodbye. Great piece that talks about his favourite subject, human dignity. Fred Kelemen on the last 2 and Gabor Medvigy on the rest, mhaly vig and his haunting scores, pure poetry, pure cinema, pure art.
Bloody piece of shit.
