I’m in the club that didn’t much care for the ending, unfortunately. I loved the entirety of the film up until the last couple of minutes. The whole dog scenario is so far-fetched that it kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. I still think of it as a 5-star quality picture, but I wish it had ended a little differently.
Disappointing that it’s 50% off of the list price, and not their normal price. At least, that’s what it seems to be. So Sweet Smell of Success is 20 bucks, which is the price I could get it for anytime on Amazon. sigh
Frank Booth – Blue Velvet
Big Boy Caprice – Dick Tracy (Pacino is hilarious in this role)
Catherine the Great – The Scarlet Empress
Alvy Singer – Annie Hall
John Rubin – Hi, Mom!
I also like the film. The animal cruelty is inexcusable and repulsive, but the film is a visual treat from beginning to end. Moreau is great and, as always, very beautiful. It is leagues better than Poison, the other Genet adaptation I watched not so long ago.

Been thinking about ordering it for days. Any day now I may pull the trigger. Just wish it wasn’t so costly.
