Any canadians buyers here? Just to know how much hidden fees or something I should expect, considering the fact that we have to pay the shipping and the US$ to CAN$ conversion.
Thank you. I’m from Quebec too so it really gives me a good approximation. You can watch Mon Oncle Antoine on the official website of ONF, without subtitles: http://onf.ca/film/mon_oncle_antoine. A lot of Quebec’s masterpieces can be found on this website.
- Le mépris
- Borat [rest of the title]
(I never thought I would include Borat and Le Mépris in one post)
- La turbulence des fluides (very bad title in english: Chaos and Desire)
- Koyaanisqatsi
- Auch Zwerge haben klein angefangen (Even Dwarfs Started Small)
- Gouttes d’eau sur pierres brûlantes
- Dancer In The Dark
- Le charme discret de la bourgeoisie
- Cet obscur objet du désir
I think we really have to make a distinction between english canadian movies and french canadian movies. It’s two different worlds portraying different realities. Pierre Falardeau would not be proud! LE TEMPS DES BOUFFONS is one of the best shorts I’ve seen.
1970 (USA) – Five Easy Pieces
1970 (World) – Auch Zwerge haben klein angefangen
1971 (USA) – Clockwork Orange
1971 (World) – Le souffle au coeur
1972 (USA) – Pink Flamingos
1972 (World) – Viskningar och rop
1973 (USA) – The Exorcist
1973 (World) – Amarcord
1974 (USA) – The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
1974 (World) – Fear Eats the Soul
1975 (USA) – Jaws
1975 (World) – Salo
1976 (USA) – The Omen
1976 (World) – Une vraie jeune fille
1977 (USA) – 3 Women
1977 (World) – Suspiria
1978 (USA) – Dawn of The Dead
1978 (World) – Koko, un gorille qui parle
1979 (USA) – Norma Rae
1979 (World) – Die Blechtrommel
I think a good example of manipulation is “Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father”. It has been criticized for the way the director seems to manipulate the audience…to make them cry, basically (it’s still devastating events).
