About Me

I began making films when I was in sixth grade. Of course, these ‘films’ were the crude delusions of an overactive child. But since, my love of cinema has strengthen more and more. I love all things film. I love making, watching, discussing, etc etc. At the moment I am working on truly defining my personal theories of what I want my films to accomplish and feel like. I have very strong views on the power of cinema, and I look to develop them further with every film I watch or make.

Currently, I write for The Daily Blam.

The Green Hornet

This is an brilliant work of satire on the current state of Hollywood cinema, and "coolness." It was really at around the time that the "heroes" start using door guns that it really hit me. That's something that would seriously happen in a major action movie and would be seen as "badass" or cool. Gondry's playing with that, making it apparent how ridiculous viewing action movies like that really is. Meta-brilliance.

I agree about "Ma Mere"... that film was so bizarre. I've only seen those 4 films starring Louis Garrel. It's so hard trying to get good French films over here. :[

I stand before you a broken man. Honestly, I don’t know what I was expecting. I knew this was an awful idea walking in to the theater. But I suppose there’s always that hope that something will go…  read review

Equinox

As someone who loves cheesy b-movies, I have to say that Equinox was just okay. A lot of potential in it, but frankly it just wasn’t ridiculous enough. For a film like that to really work, it really…  read review

Unfortunately, my viewing experience with this film wasn’t at all ideal. All of the images were tinted, and it was accompanied by a mostly inappropriate score (In my opinion). But the film itself is…  read review

Down by Law

I very much agree with Nate Q’s review on this. It really gets off to a slow start (With the exception of Waits’ Jockey Full of Bourbon opening the film). But once Roberto Benigni becomes part of the…  read review
