Marlon Reid is an editor, producer, writer, composer and filmmaker from Detroit, Michigan. A graduate from the Telecommunications program from Morgan State University. Marlon also attended the four-week intensive filmmakers workshop at New York Film Academy. He has produced, written, and directed several short films on 16mm film, 8mm and mini dv video formats. A production assistant on feature length films, CROSSOVER & FOUR BROTHERS. Marlon is continuing to expand his experience in the film industry. 1998, Marlon won third place in the AFI/SONY Visions of U.S. Home video competition for a 22-minute video short titled, THE VISIT. The 22-minute 8mm video production is about a broken relationship between a father and son. The son is visiting his estranged father who is serving time in prison. Marlon is currently submitting his short film, NIGHT to different film festivals around the world. His short film, THE LAST CONDOM played in several film festivals and was selected to be a apart of the Russell Simmons Def Filmmakers series. This year, Marlon was selected to be a part of the Guy Alexander Hanks and Marvin Miller Screenwriting Program, Los Angeles, CA (Feb. – May 2008) Established by Drs. Bill and Camille Cosby at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. A fifteen-week intensive workshop designed to assist writers in the completion of a film or television script and to deepen the participants appreciation for and comprehension of African American history and culture. He is 1 of 19 people selected from 600 applicants.
