Isn't the film's esthetic too much copied on the Pedro Costa's style ?
The scene with "Couleur menthe à l'eau" by Eddy Mitchell is simply wonderful.
"Plutôt que de chercher l'universalité, c'est mieux d'être fidèle à ce que vous aimez, mettant l'accent sur ses propres idiosyncrasies éphémères."
What editing control ! Usually, Méliès's "Le voyage dans la Lune" (1902) and Edwin S. Porter's "The Great train robbery" (1905) are considered as first edited films. But this "Alice in Wonderland", as kitsch as it seems nowadays, is amazing by its edting. Funny too the fact that, if you don't know the Lewis Caroll novel, it can be hard for the audience to understand all the story.
His new film, that I saw yesterday, is as funny strange and deeply sensible as "Coeurs". Definitely, Alain Resnais is one of the best director alive.
