Yes Almodovar has lost it his time, hopefully he'll do better next time. Thanks for the recommendations, 'Celda 211' or 'El secreto de sus ojos' sound interesting. I have seen my life without me which was powerful but not the secret life of words. I'll look out for it. I have been watching a lot of Godard etc from Love.com - good for world cinema. Felices pascuas!
I just saw Broken embraces and was a bit disappointed - there were some good moments - good ohotography and colur as usual, the references to other movies were good and Almodovar's obsession with Audrey Hepburn (and Cruz) is clear and a little boring. I also saw her in Elegy and she now seems to be typecast as the older man's object of obsession!
Have you seen 'A girl cut in two' - Chabrol's latest? Quite good, and restrained too - sexy without being explicit. I also enjoyed 'In the city of Silvia' - or en la cuidad de silvia - Spanish director. I went to see it in London - expecting to practicar mi Espanol - but it was in French and filmed in Strasbourg! Still good though in a minimal 'realist' way.
