cannot agree more :)
The stage version was wonderful (with Eartha Kitt). This is a fiasco. 2/5 for Marion Cotillard's sake.
Next up for #johnnydepp the role of Count Chocula in the #timburton update of the popular 1970s cereal.
Abandon all hope ye who enter the bowels of DULL SHADOWS. #timburton
A well written review worthy of the read: http://www.westword.com/2012-05-10/film/dark-shadows-movie-review/
After seeing Waters' dazzling stage show, must now see this.
After the disappointment of Inglorious Basterds, I am not holding my breath ...
Brilliant, unsettling, and brutally revealing.
Tedious 1st half. 15 m of really good mayhem, then it fizzles.
Based on the trailer. Pathetic has a new meaning.
It may be melodrama but it still packs a punch.
Beautiful in its gentle realism.
Redefines over the top. More an insight into Burton and Taylor's psyches than a movie.
One of my favorites at last I have seen it on the big screen. 'Memory and desire stirring dull roots...' (TS Eliot, The Wasteland)
A Cinematic Saint.
I tentatively have great hopes that this is not a camp fest as Alice was.
Some good moments and some hysterically bad ones as well.
A very nice, but emotionally underwhelming, tribute to a genius. Nice use of 3D. 3/5.
Bergman meets As The World (No Longer) Turns. 3/5.
Really very funny. Looking forward to experiencing more of Hong's work.
Eyes Without A Face meets Frankenstein meets Rocky Horror meets Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down and Matador and becomes a ****** up Melodrama. Almodovar brings new meaning to TWISTED.
A good piece to read for those interested in Salo at greater depth. There are some minor errors such as saying Sergio Citti wrote the screenplay when it was his brother Franco. http://jclarkmedia.com/pasolini/pasolini25.html
Moments of greatness do not make a great movie.
If only Paddy Chayefsky were still around.
Like aliens making a sci-fi musical while on quaaludes. And, it almost works!
I want Gertrude Stein to critique my novel.
Bill Cunningham is more amazing than all the renegade street artists put together.
RIP, Mr. Lumet. Your subtle. but gritty and honest style will be greatly missed. You quietly shined a light into the Soul of post WWII America.
Where is The Chalk Garden?
Dynamic kinetic melodramatic devastation. Natalie Portman is close to rivaling Gloria Swanson's Norma Desmond.
An OK film. Just hope Sofia Coppola doesn't follow it up with Nowhere. A very weak 3 out of 5.
