Anna-karenina--5

Anna Karenina

Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Count Vronsky? Really? Wasn't that the guy who played the dorky, wannabe superhero in Kick-Ass and you're asking him to be a dashing, leading man who seduces Anna?...Right. Whoever signed off on that casting decision should never work in this business again! I'd say the trailer was 10X better than the actual film. The trailer deserves an Oscar nomination.

Were you as shocked as I was in Torch Song with Joan in blackface? It was my first time seeing her in color, so it was double the shock for me, I think.

I sort of heard about it beforehand, so I prepared myself. But yeah, it was pretty scary! My first JC film in color was "The Best of Everything"...a way better film that you should check out.

Strawberry Shortcakes

Do not be fooled by the title of this film! This is not a Japanese version of Sex and the City, nor is it what you would necessarily call a chick flick. This happens to be one well-made indie film…  read review

Memories of Matsuko

“Memories of Matsuko” is one of the most bizarre, yet enjoyable movie-watching experiences I’ve ever had. The two films I’ve heard people compare it to the most are “Moulin Rouge!” and “Amelie”…  read review

Voices of a Distant Star

Voices of a Distant Star

This film should serve as inspiration to all the up-and-coming filmmakers out there! The creator of this masterful short, Makoto Shinkai, not only directed “Voices of a Distant Star”, but wrote, animated…  read review

The Uninvited

The Uninvited

This is Hollywood’s first attempt at a “serious” ghost story. If you’re looking for a horror film that’s well-plotted, atmospheric, and intelligent then The Uninvited is it!

The story begins…  read review
