There’s so many scenes that got to me. I didn’t cry, but I did feel really really sad for Matsuko throughout most of the film. One scene is when she starts to avoid her friend Megumi and celebrates her birthday by herself. Another is when Ryu beats her a couple of times and she says, “Its okay if you beat me, its better than being alone”. Also, when her brother tells Matsuko that her father and sis die. That was really sad. Oh and can’t forget about when she gets out of jail and after expecting her man Kenji to be waiting for her, she finds that he’s moved on and married with a kid.

Il Posto – the first perfect film I’ve ever seen.
All About Lily Chou Chou – introduced me to Asian films and the lovely Yu Aoi.
Notorious (1946) – the first Hitchcock film I ever saw and still the best.
It Happened One Night – started my fascination with classic films and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Nights of Cabiria – taught me to always look on the bright side of things no matter how tragic and depressing life can be sometimes.
Adaptation/Science of Sleep – reminds me not to be insecure.
Whisper of the Heart – I’ve never seen such a touching love story than the one portrayed in this film. It continues to give me inspiration to do what I want in life.

I would appreciate having a half stars rating system and also for it to show how many votes the ratings are based on.
