Strangely hypnotic film about a geologist whose surveying trip for a new canal is as much about business as it is an escape from a recent, painful breakup. Along the way he meets impoverished villagers his canal will displace, and begins to identify with their loneliness as he journeys towards healing. A brief and lovely poem of beginnings and endings, and the act of moving on.
