Sono Shion always continues to shock me. This film didn't grip me as much as I expected it to at first, but around the halfway point, it really dragged me in, leading to some of the most unsettling scenes I've watched in a long time.

    What struck me the most about this film is that...if a man does not stick up for himself, he not only loses the respect of the women around him(wife and daughter), but also gets pushed to the brink of madness by the dark forces in society, which are brilliantly played out by Denden in this film.
