I have the impression that romanian films are very big these days. The few i´ve seen have been very good. Do you have any recommendations for me? Maybe some of your favorite romanian films?

Thanks very much for the message:) My favourite Romanian films would be: 1. Hard to find ones: "Sequences" ("Secvente", 1981, director: Alexandru Tatos), "The Cruise" ("Croaziera", 1981, director Mircea Daneliuc), "Microphone Test" ("Proba de microfon", 1980, Mircea Daneliuc), "Why Are the Bells Ringing, Mitica" ("De ce trag clopotele Mitica?", 1981, Lucian Pintilie) 2. Easier to find: "The Death of Mr. Lazarescu" (2005, Cristi Puiu), "Stuff and Dough" ("Marfa si banii", 2001, Cristi Puiu), "The Happiest Girl in the World" ("Cea mai fericita fata din lume", 2009, Radu Jude), "First of All, Felicia" ("Felicia inainte de toate", 2009, Razvan Radulescu, Melissa de Raaf) Those would be my recommandations for the moment. I like other Romanian films though, but not as much as the ones I mentioned.

Thanks for the recommendations. I really appreciate it. There is alot of stuff I want to check out here. Think I am going for Microphone Test and Sequences first:-)

Good choices:) I think you will have some problems in finding some subbed copies of them. A lot of older Romanian movies have this problem.
