On Daniel Bergamini's Wall

hello, welcome to the site. i saw your introduction in the "new to the auteurs?" thread and figured id recommend a couple of criterion titles. first up is what i would consider to be the most essential release in the collection; john cassavetes-five films. its a collection of five very different films by one of the most under-appreciated filmmakers of all time. its a wonderful box set and serves well as an introduction to independent cinema. as a fan of scorsese i think you would really like him. next up would have to be jean luc godard's 'breathless' and pierrot le fou'. both are a great introductory point for pretty much the most important film maker of the second half of the last century. as a fan of alfonso cuaron's 'y tu mama tambien' (a personal favourite) you might want to check out his 'solo con tu paraja' a great little film and a wonderful dvd. i love how cuaron includes comprehensive autobiographies in each of his dvds, theyre so cool. i have a feeling you would probably like david cronenberg too, as i consider him to be a cross between scorsese and guillermo del toro, so id recommend 'videodrome' too. oh and 'in the mood for love' by wong kar-wai is one of the truly essential releases too! to prevent going on too long ill leave that there. if you have any specific ideas about types of films that your looking for then give me a shout, im always willing to help.
