risya i think the writer does an excellent job encapsulating what this film is about (without telegraphing it) in the climax, when the girl explains why she allowed herself to be fingered in class. she says it feels good to be wanted. then she wonders if the boys think that is stupid. they don't think it's stupid. SO TO RE-CAP it's about the desire to be genuinely wanted, although it's about other things too.
Agreed with Cloak. I think the main goal of the film is to showcase real human want. She necessarily didn't want to be sexual violated in class, but she was won by the fact that someone genuinely wanted her. I also think that's Terri's motivation with his principal as well. He has someone who genuinely wants to talk to him. I didn't find this perfect, but I found this strong in the areas of character development and its desire to let its characters take their time to be developed. Still, it lacked in the areas of dialog. I felt that some parts of the film had too much dead air and there were too many awkward pauses.
