About
The Future
Whimsy, as all Miranda July's works are. Jason and Sophie's apartment is so far removed from typical LA-ian mise-en-scene that it feels probable to buy into July's fantastical ideas. The cat-adoption narrative masqueraded as the main plot, but provided only chronology; nothing was primary, everything shared the position of subplot, as it does in life. Cut away the cat-narrator scenes & I could learn to love the film.
