Che About
Che

Good film but it does not portray Che in the best light. He seemed to have a romantic view of Guerilla warfare. He was a doctor but, in the film at least, he immediately demands to be a Guerilla once another doctor came along. I feel that he could have contributed a lot more acting as a doctor as Fidel and Che didn't seem to have a clear idea of how the government would be won after Batista was ousted.

Che isn't the hero college liberals make him out to be. He believed in violent revolution, and he tortured people before killing them. That said I loved this movie and it was my favorite of that year. A crime that Del Toro didn't win let alone was not nominated.

What source do you have that he used torture? Violent revolution is a loaded term. In any case, Latin America, where instead of democracy you have dictators and death squads trained by the SoA and funded by the US, where charity money sent for earthquake relief is diverted to swiss bank accounts, where assassinations and mass detentions is the norm, all this seems justification enough for violent revolution.
