Scott shamelessly rips off 2001 to lend some outer-space majesty to what is essentially a down-and-dirty slasher film. But so what? It works. Great cast, great concept, magnificent visuals, and one of the greatest monsters in the history of horror. It's all tension and release, tension and release. What more do you want? Lets hope Scott can recapture a bit of the old magic with this Prometheus thing.
