We Need to Talk About Kevin

A simple story poorly disguised as a complex arthouse film. Respect to the masterful way it was put together, but the hype is inexplicable - it was painfully, unbearably obvious at times (pedestrian, even). The performances and memory-based storytelling were very interesting, but that's not enough. It felt like an elongated short film, and the audience is only holding on to find out details.
