dude, no problem bro. you motivated me to check out Bakshi and finally watch Cool World, etc.
I'm glad to see that. Hope you enjoyed 'em all. ;) Though, I'm also still working on watching some more of Oshima's works (like DEATH BY HANGING (1968), for example) as well.
on another note, I'd like to recommend some Cronenberg to you. I have not made it through Rabid or Shivers, but I have seen almost all of his work and it's all really rewarding (I dunno if you list all of the films youve seen or not...) but Spider, M. Butterfly, The Fly, Scanners, ExistenZ and The Brood are all well worth seeing and some of them are masterpieces. Even the TV Movie "The Dead Zone" is a strange gem. Also, you gotta watch some early Antonioni. I'm just getting into him, but I've seen La Notte and it's amazing.
Yeah... I have seen those Cronenberg flicks you mentioned except for both M. BUTTERFLY and EXISTENZ, which I will soon watch. (Too bad, Mubi didn't let me add THE FLY to my top favorite Cronenberg list. :( Very good that you getting to know the early works of Antonioni, I have seen L'AVVENTURA (very good one), yet I still have both LA NOTTE and L'ECLISSE to watch myself.
word. lemme know when you see M. Butterfly. I'd be curious to hear what you think of it.
