Athina Rachel Tsangari's ATTENBERG is a strange and oddly compelling continuation of the Greek New Wave, following the success of the superior DOGTOOTH. Following a sheltered young woman whose father is dying of cancer, while her best friend tries to educate her in the ways of the world, the film takes a unique but self conscious look at the societal rot and unease going on at the heart of Greek unrest.
