About
Haywire
Soderbergh through and through - slick, clean - yet that’s its exact downfall, with his familiar aesthetic applied somewhat too familiarly here, coalescing into self-parody - and this from someone who’s loved his work for years. Any intrigue is left to the script and choreography, both exogenous elements; the former shaky in its own familiarity, the latter an intermittent star, albeit exhilarating. But it overall leaves me unimpressed, at most diverted by these smaller parts. Cool ending, though.
