On the surface A.I. almost seems like a classic Disney film, but beneath that there is something dark, almost sinister about it. Spielberg dares to ask profound and frightening questions about human existence. This is one of his most mature works, as well as one of his most underrated. He is a master of visual storytelling, special effects, and heavy dramatic themes. Haley Joel Osment gives an incredible performance.
