About
The Piano Teacher
In THE PIANO TEACHER Haneke directs some of the most powerful, most dysfunctional characters on film. Like the pianist, he taunts, withholds, punishes, gratifies and leaves us high & dry. This is one of Haneke's most focused movies. It opens with banalities, but swiftly leads us into the repressed, dark world of our anti-heroine. I was hooked & couldn't look away.
