About
Into the Abyss
Herzog states that his respect for Perry & Burkett doesn't hinge on believing their story or liking them as people, yet it seems the director's natural tendency is to like everyone. Seeing these rednecks communicate & miscommunicate amiably w/ the German is the film's main pleasure. ITA doesn't shy from the crime's horror but admits that horror fades w/ age. Did Herzog himself smuggle Burkett's jizz out of prison?
