About
Melancholia
I have hated everything by Lars Von Trier I have viewed. That said I greatly enjoyed this movie, and it has stuck with me. Dunst is wonderful, her fragility and oddness feel so genuine. The separation of the film in two feels odd at first, but ultimately works. Showing the world this character inhabits and how she doesn't fit, then later she seems sane. She had always expected death, depressive realism in full glory.
