i wish this was any other director. i like Noomi Rapace, and i really like the movie this is remaking. De Palma's talent is unfortunately nowhere near his ambition, and he has gotten by on being like other directors for a long time now.

    This is very much the kind of film he excels at though. I'm kinda surprised he hasn't done something like this before, actually. I believe he'll do fine here.

    i still have to disagree. i think he often makes movies similar to this, and this is what he likes to make, but i think most of the time he is merely imitating his contemporaries and influences, like Hitchcock or Polanski, almost to the point of plagiarism. and although other directors do it as well, the fact that he is reinterpreting another film makes me feel that even more about him.
