Cronenberg is one of the few auteurs that consistently creates visions that burrow into your gut and stays there. His visions are potent, tactile and vivid and almost always perverse, nightmarish, and frightening. Videodrome certainly falls into this category and is quite the entry. James Woods is a perfect leading man for Cronenberg with that lascivious smile and subtly corrupt star persona, he ably gives us a protagonist that starts in the gutter and starts digging. Truly a terrifying journey that leaves you feeling like you yourself have been touched as well by the Videodrome.
