About
Killer Joe
On the surface, Killer Joe operates as a sort of trailer park film noir--but it also incorporates a disturbing critique of hegemonic hypocrisy and sadism (horrifyingly embodied by McConaughey). The focal family serves as an antithesis to the American idyll, educated solely by the kind of vapid television images that are peppered throughout the film. Masterful writing, direction, acting, cinematography and editing.
